Smart soles for people with Dementia
The BBC reported today that in Dorset a tracking device is being trialled by the NHS. Its aims are two fold- keeping people with dementia safe and enabling them to live more independently. The device is an insole, which can be placed inside the shoe of the person with dementia. This ‘Smart Sole’ can send text or email alerts every 10 minutes so that family members know where the person is. It can only be used with permission from the family of the person with dementia.
