Minding The Gap

Minding The Gap is part of Community Action Suffolk and helps young people get back into work or education.

They support people aged 15-18 who are NEET or risk of being NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training). They also support people aged 19-24 who are unemployed and/or economically inactive. Minding The Gap can help young people who are:

  • Homeless
  • Socially isolated
  • Single parents
  • Ex-offenders
  • Substance misusers
  • Those with special education needs
  • Those who speak English as a second language
  • Those with physical or mental health needs

Minding The Gap can help with funding towards courses, interview clothes etc. and they offer free activities to young people aged 15-24. These activities aim to give young people the confidence, experience and skills that will enable and empower them to seek work, education or training.

We met Matthew from Minding The Gap at the SPCN conference on 11th Feb; it was great talking to him and it is clear what a huge difference the organisation can make to so many young people.
